Genius!
I’m really impressed with this potato grow bag! It’s such a clever and convenient idea for growing potatoes at home. The built-in view window makes it easy to check on the potatoes without disturbing the soil, and the sturdy material holds up well. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants a simple and fun way to grow their own potatoes.

So far, great! I planted potatoes in 2 of these and like the quality and features. They are large and well made. Harvesting will be the true test.

Heavy duty. Helpful sidewall design.
I have started a bag of potatoes inside. A15 gallonol bag is a little bigger than the 10 gallon bags I’ve used in the past. The bag sits nicely on a dolly, and I filled the first round with about six inches of soil, then enough extra to cover some potato starts. I have seven in there, hoping for five healthy plants. I’ll add a fine straw as plants grow.I’ve used a Grow bag with an opening before, but this one isn’t just a flap. It is designed to open more as a spout. I’m hoping that will be better for inside growing. It also has a clear bowing panel, which I still have questions about. That sounds like fun, especially if there are kids to observe root growth. I just wonder if it will be something I’ll need to cover to keep light out, as potatoes generally be kept buried and should not be allowed to grow in light. I’ll watch for any greeting, and simply cover that panel if necessary.I’m a huge fan of Grow bags, and this one is put together well, plus has some unusual bells and whistles.

Well built, great size
We used 10 gallon potato grow bags this year, but I'm excited about having these larger size ones for next year. I'm also very excited about the unique window openings on these. The bags we used last year had the harvest door, but the problem with opening the door to check on the roots is that the soil invariably falls out when you do. As we are homeschoolers, farming is part of our daughter's education, and having the ability to check on the roots whenever she wants, just to see how the plants are coming along, is something we're both excited about. My daughter loves the clear plastic pots we use on our seedlings for that reason - she can see what's going on below the ground - and I find it useful myself. Particularly with plants like potatoes that take so long to make their way above ground in the spring. If we can see that yes, the plant is doing okay, there's growth happening, it's just not above ground yet, that takes a lot of stress off of my mind. It also helps when we can know that yes, it's time to harvest. For the size of these bags, I think $26 for 4 is a reasonable price. The stitching is strong, and the handles appreciated, as we do like to have the ability to move our potatoes around, depending on what the weather is doing and whether they need more or less sun at that particular time of year. It will take a full growing season to be certain about the quality of the fabric and how well it holds up to the sun, but this appears to be the same fabric as the grow bags we usually order, and they're on their 3rd season and going strong. The vinyl panels are fully covered by fabric from solar exposure, so hopefully they don't break down in the heat. We shall see. I will update if we have a failure in the first season.
