Superb Price - Value Ratio and Fun Drone
The media could not be loaded. I've tried a couple DJI and they are good but honestly for beginners or even someone who just does this for fun, this is the perfect Drone. It it's not expensive, flies really smooth, has great video quality and speed. I know everyone thinks DJI is the best and I'm no conosseur but if you ask me: between crashing a 400+ drone to less than 300 one which virtually no video quality difference, I'd definitely choose this one every time. Make sure to get the Asurion warranty since it's pretty good (have used it twice and customer service is amazing). I can't speak for higher quality drones or the DJI's above this one, but the fly more combo for this drone is definitely worth the investment. The batteries do last between 20 and 30 mins depending on which on the 3 modes you use (and obviously consume battery charge faster on sport mode but it's a lot of fun) and they take a couple hours tops to be full charge. Drone is very sturdy and can withstand lvl 5 winds and several crashes b4 breaking (but buy the propeller protection kit if it's your first tike using a drone). It weights less than 250 grams so no need for remote ID and the control is very easy to deal with (both phone app and controls) and practical for moving the camera. Until they fix glitches on Atom 2x this is your go to for sure and also remember to register it on the FAA site since you need to do it even for recreational purposes (and pass the TRUST course) because you need both if a police officer asks for permit or something. I'm not a pro but the attached video was on sport mode: drone had great response, was easy to maneuver and could go faster but again, not an expert yet. The only con I would is that it can't do acrobatic stunts but it does have several stunts for video and photo (like boomerang, rocket, etc) as well as "follow me" feature which DJI same segment does not have.

Novice to RC & Drones but want a little more than basic yet easy to learn? This might be the answer.
Relatively novice, this is my second drone. I began with a Holy Stone 175 which seemed like a nicely featured package for the price, but I found learning to control it well awkward- crashing a lot. Not disastrously- but rarely landed 'on all fours'. Not something I'm heavy into, but these have become quite a nice "tool" to have if you want to get a bird's eye view of your property, etc. So I began shopping for something with a bit more features and function which would hopefully both provide a better experience and be more user-friendly. In mind, I was mainly thinking about features such as automatic collision avoidance, which I soon found not especially available without a much higher price tag, and rarely found on drones that stay below the weight / size requiring FAA registration, etc. I was already familiar with many of the automatic path / auto-return type functions, but didn't have the ability of auto-hover, which many now have and something you'll find to be a real plus- the drone instantly holding it's location and altitude at any time you're not actively moving the controls. A higher level of wind resistance / compensation also a great feature that not only improves photo/video, it helps to keep you "in control" and not over-compensating in ways that will cause the novice to crash. Nearly all brand drones in this range touted having these functions, and for me the most frustrating aspect was that ALL of their ads barely provided more than a short bulleted list of functions, focusing almost entirely on hyped up videos with no real details that would help you make a good choice. I'd at first been leaning toward purchase of a DJI, which had great reviews until discovering that one thing they failed to disclose without some deeper investigation was that the DJI control was going to hound and pound you with advertising pop-ups in the midst of your fun unless you paid an extra fee to stop them. Who needs annoying ad hype getting in your face while trying to control drone flight? Don't we get enough of that already?! That killed it for me with DJI- no way will I buy and support any product which goes after consumers like that. Probably the biggest factor that entered my final decision to go with the Potensic Atom was it's wired control connection with the smartphone, instead of it's relying on wi-fi link which I'd found to be pretty problematic with my first unit, even in areas where it shouldn't have been a problem. And in my use so far, this has proven to really boost trouble-free connection with the drone, and fast, solid communication with it. The improved connection, and the basic flight stability of the Potensic has meant that now I'm not only flying more often, with further distances and for longer periods, I've done so without even coming close to having a single 'crash', landing both in auto and manually 100% so far. I'm still a little awkward with the controller, in that you really have to learn how to hold these things without accidentally having a finger activate or change a function that you didn't mean to. With this one, today I accidentally pressed the power button and shut off the controller with the drone at 200 feet up and running low on power. Thankfully the auto-hover kept it in place while I powered back on, re-established connection with the drone and safely brought it down. Another great feature of the Potensic is the 3-axis gimbal camera. It provides incredibly steady and clear hi-res video. Long-life batteries offer flight times of as much as 30 minutes before need to return for a fresh battery, and the package that comes with 3 batteries, the soft carrying case and multi-charging accessory means you can put in a lot of time in the air before need to call it a day. A bit more initial cost, but worth it if you can spare the extra at buying time. Overall so far, I'm super-pleased with my purchase of the Potensic Atom (the Atom SE was actually said to be the right choice for the novice/beginner, but it fell short of some features I wanted, and the Atom hasn't been tough to learn in the slightest.)
