Simply fantastic
Bought this after watching My Cat From Hell and after checking out Jason Galaxy's cat toys on his site. Then I went shopping on Amazon...I also bought the mouse catcher with a wire, and it's simply fantastic in combination with this feather toy clipped onto it. Normally my little tiger simply can't be bothered with the flying toys but THIS ONE?? Oh boy, I tell you he's in a frenzy, when the feathers come out to play! The sound of these feathers in the air is absolutely perfect for a grown up cat (and every cat in between I guess). I think he likes it very much, his tail is going crazy and his eyes are completely dilated because he's in a very aroused state when this toy comes forth! The feathers are relatively large, and most important: Natural with a great "stiffness" to them, that imitates real birds' feathers. I love the quality of this product, and I guess I will need to buy another one later... hehe.

my cat will play for hours...
my (slightly) older cat loves this toy & will hunt & play literally for hours. When not out for play - she hunts to try & find it... It is a little fragile & won't last for ever - but offers her more entertainment than artificial feather toys, so in my opinion is worth every penny.

Costing more for poorer quality product. Avoid and go with the alternative brands.
Price has steadily gone up whilst quality has steadily declined. Less dense and poorly constructed these don’t last more than one or two sessions with the cat anymore. They used to last at least a month as long as you kept them hidden when not in use. Over the last year the ones I have bought have been very “luck of the draw” with a tendency towards rubbish. The alternative brands you see don’t seem to send the cat as wild but it’s hard to justify the cost of DaBird if it arrives spindly and dissolves within the first 10 minutes of play.

30 minute wonder
The cats LOVED it. Rusty kept running off with it very pleased with himself. Even chubby Scribbles got moving (one of my main reasons for purchase). However, within 30 minutes Rusty had all the feathers out of the holder. He's only a ginger moggy not a rare breed.Attached is the photo of their old Da Frenzy that they've had for a few months complete with Rusty's teeth marks. One feather has managed to stay put with the new one at the top. I suppose I could glue them back in but I'm a bit wary of using glues on something that they'll chew.If your cat isn't a chomper like Rusty you'll probably be OK.

OK but not worth the extra cost
I'm using this with my Purrsuit wand. It's good, and the cat loves it, but it's not worth the extra cost, simply because the long feathers are quite delicate and they got bent the first time the cat caught it. It's good, but just not worth paying extra compared to the standard one because it's delicate. For the same price you can get the Purrsuit wand with one attachment.

The good, the bad, and the feathery.
You seem to get a good one or a not so good one with these. I've ordered a few now, as my cat absolutely loves her Da Bird toy and will crunch her way through feathers all day long if you let her. I suppose it all depends on the width and the placement of the feathers, but some of these don't spin and flutter as well as others, which doesn't capture my cat's attention as much. Still, when you get a good one, they're great. Shame they're so expensive.

glides through the air and sounds like a bird
The ultimate cat toy. Perfectly balanced, glides through the air and sounds like a bird. My cats love Da Bird, even my 17 year old Siamese. You definitely get what you pay for. Excellent, well worth the extra pennies.

my cat is crazy in love
My cat absolutely loves these feather refills. I have had to start hiding them on a night as he will wake us up playing with them! They're not cheap but I think it is worth it to keep him stimulated, especially as he is an indoor cat.We don't even bother with the stick now, he enjoys chasing after it when we throw it for him, and he will even bring it back to us. :)If you want a happy cat, buy him/her a couple of these!
