OptiGear Soft Lens Inserter/Remover

New to contacts and was having horrible issues getting them in my eyes. I ordered multiple insertion devices and out of the ones I ordered, this was the only one that worked. It turned what was before sometimes an hour long procedure to insert my lenses (If I got them in at all that day), into minutes and 100% success rate each time. I do NOT use them for removal, as that has never been an issue for me to do with my fingers.Great product. I plan to order 2 more, to have one at work, one at home and one in my travel kit.***Side note - the product comes with a small little carrying case, which is a nice added bonus.***

Please do not purchase this item. It is not an appropriate or useful tool for soft contact lens removal. It is too thick and does not allow for easy use. I tried it and my eye was sore for days because I made so many attempts at grabbing the contact; the white part of my eye became red---and I was NOT applying lots of pressure!I gave the product ONE star because I understand what the developer was attempting to create. So, their intentions were good, however, it DOES NOT WORK well. I believe it ( because of the HARD PLASTIC) will cause more damage for contact lens wearers--over time, it will cause damage to the eye. Please beware...do not waste your money on this....PLEASE!

I'm very new to contacts, I'd just been wearing them for a few weeks when I got this. After fumbling with this I found it was much easier to insert and remove contacts without it and now I am use to it.*If your having enough trouble with putting in your contacts that your considering pursuing this I'd advise against it. There are youtube videos to show you how to put them in, which was helpful to me beyond my initial trip to the optometrist and you can practice touching your eye to minimize your blinking reflex. However, the most important detail that took me a while to realize is that you have to place the contact on your pupil. May seem silly to some of you, but since it's difficult to insert it I would try to look to the side and insert the contact since they reposition themselves into the right place. Once I stopped doing that it was much easier to get them in.

This was purchased to try on myself before purchasing multiples to use on set (as single use items for actors and stunties). I'm in love. This little widget is amazing. My trepidations melted away to nothing the first time I used it. There's practically no learning curve with regular soft lenses; they go in the first time every time and come out with the 'tweezer' end just as easily.I tried them with my sclera lenses but they get tricky since the sclera lenses are so heavy. With practice, however, it can be done.What a nifty little contraption! I'll be buying more when the next lense tech call comes in!

If you are a new user or getting readjusted to wearing contact lens, this is helpful. It took a little more time for me to get use to this but it works. No more panic how to insert or remove your Soft Contact Lens. Thank You.I have three of them. For myself and a family member ( hated thinking he could not get the lens on his eyes, but wanted to try Soft Contact Lens). This product gave him help in asking for his first pair of soft contact lens.Good Product to try.

this did not work well for me so i will keep trying to find the right thing for me to use.

As a new wearer of contact lenses with relatively small eye openings I struggled with inserting the lenses. This device solved the problem. The tip that the lens rests on is large enough that the lens stays in place until I get it to my eye. The device has a clever little hole in it that allows the contact to release once you make solid contact with the eye. I am now able to insert my lenses on the first try every time even if I make slight contact with my eyelid. This device turned what was a daily struggle into an easy event. I cannot speak to the removal end as removal is not an issue for me so I have not used it.

As an "Inserter" this product is exceptional. My daily eye routine just became so effortless since I've been using OptiGear Soft Lens as an Inserter. As a "Remover" I will agree, this is not a useful item. However, YouTube has some fantastic "how-to's" on easily removing contacts which solved the removal problem for me.
