GE Vintage Style LED Globe Light Bulb, 5 Watts (60 Watt Equivalent) Warm Candle Light, Amber Glass, Medium Base, Dimmable (1 Pack)

I installed this in a lamp and within hours I heard a crackling sound. As soon as I touched the bulb the entire thing broke off of its base. Luckily it was a clean break with no shards of glasses. The lamp was not even on and the bulb not used at all other than flipping it on once to make sure it worked.I saw another review describing the same thing so there must be a defective production run.

Loves these bulbs. Put them in on Friday when I received them, here we are on tuesday, for no reason at all the bulb iteslf detached from the rest of the light and came shattering down the stairs. Lovely!! Seemed like a good price, by a good lighting company. Guess GE bulbs are not the way to go, dont buy these!! Definitely a hazard and waste of money:(

See the attached photos and judge them yourself. I got two of the bulbs, both heavily pitted and dusty INSIDE, and both have a skewed filament. For decorative bulbs that are supposed to draw attentions from people around, they have utterly terrible in quality. Basically, even a dollar store lightbulb would have better clarity in the glass. Until GE addresses their quality control in their overseas factory, I strongly recommend you stay away from their vintage bulbs and look elsewhere.

At 250 lumens it is less bright than the 280 lumens of the Xtricity version, even though GE claims their bulb replaces 60w and the xtricity bulb states a 40w equivalent. This is also 2w lower than the 7w xtricity bulb. I do wish these had an un-tinted option. I dropped a star because the amazon selection is for clear glass, not Amber. It’s similar in appearance to The xtricity bulb except this one has 5 spirals and Xtricity has 4. Unfortunately neither is as good of a look as the original incandescent g40 spiral bulbs that I want to replace. The incandescent has 8 spirals. I will probably go with this GE bulb since it has an extra spiral.

I was so excited when I got this bulb and screwed it into the fixture as soon as it arrived. It was beautiful and perfect for the lamp and the room and dimmed nicely. But, alas, I only got to enjoy it that one evening because it broke in the middle of the night and I woke up to it shattered all over the kitchen counter.As far as I know, this product does not come with a guarantee, so unless the seller contacts me, it was a complete waste of money.

I love these bulbs. Been looking for a low watt bulb that is easy on the eyes. Bought first set from Lowes and then 4 more from Amazon at a better price. I love actual edison bulbs, but who wants to spend the energy powering them. I get compliments all of the time on these. first set is going strong after a year. The only issue is that certain dimmers struggle turning them back on if you dim them really low, when you turn off. I believe is an issue with my dimmer switch not the bulb.

It looked so pretty for the first two minutes it was on before I heard a weird crackling sound coming from it and the it just broke off. Seems to be a common issue based on other reviews. It’s a shame because it’s such a nice looking bulb. I’m not really sure why this occurs, if it’s certain lamps or just bad manufacturing. The bulb was also a bit scratched.

Description says clear finish but the glass is a tinted gold color

Nice bulb but hundreds of tiny hairs inside as you can see in the photo.
